Peoria, Ariz. -- February
18, 2010 -- LG Hausys, a global producer and marketer of both solid
surface and quartz surfaces, announced plans to expand its U.S. operations with
a $50 million investment in a state-of-the-art quartz (engineered stone)
manufacturing facility.
The new plant will be constructed
on a 95,000 square foot site in Adairsville, Georgia alongside its HI-MACS acrylic
solid surface manufacturing facility that opened in 2004. This new facility will
add up to 80 new jobs in the local area where LG Hausys is well established. The
completion of the plant is targeted for December 2010.
Since its first export of HI-MACS
solid surface to the United
States in 1997 and subsequent U.S.
manufacturing investment in 2004, LG Hausys has rapidly grown its market
position. Similarly, LG Hausys launched its Viatera product line imported from
Italy in 2005 and now follows
with U.S. manufacturing.
“We have a broad network of
sales, marketing and operations personnel to serve the industry in the most
cost-effective manner possible,” says Greg Vas Nunes, Executive Vice President
for LG Hausys, Surfaces Division. “Most consumers are not familiar with LG
Hausys products but that is rapidly changing as our presence through retailers
and the design community is quickly expanding.”
